Jacky & Tony’s Edible & Wildlife Garden
Tucked into a classic long, narrow urban block, this garden is a tapestry of abundance, beauty, and biodiversity. Designed to nourish both people and wildlife, it offers a rich interplay of function and form across every layer of its compact landscape.
Three tranquil ponds provide a haven for frogs, insects, and birds, while soft fruit, leafy greens, herbs, and seasonal vegetables spill from every corner, creating a garden that feeds both body and soul. From top fruit to ground-hugging herbs, the edible plantings are as generous as they are thoughtfully placed, ensuring year-round harvests.
At its heart, this is a forest garden—layered, diverse, and ecologically attuned. Climbing vines, flowering perennials, structured shrubs, and fruiting trees create a living mosaic that thrives in every available niche, making clever use of light, height, and space.
A gently curving cobbled path weaves through the planting, inviting exploration and discovery. Seasonal interest is ever-present, with pockets of colour, texture, and scent unfolding throughout the year. Seating areas, patios, and a pond-viewing deck create places to pause, gather, and soak in the atmosphere—whether dining with friends, watching the bees at work, or simply enjoying a quiet moment.
This photo journey captures the evolution of a garden that is as productive as it is beautiful—a space designed for living, sharing, and connecting with nature.
